Privacy Policy.
Jelonyx Returns & Exchanges is a Shopify app provided by Jelonyx. This policy explains what the app collects, why it is used, and how to contact us.
What the app collects
Jelonyx Returns & Exchanges collects the following data to run the returns workflow:
- Shop identity and app sessions: your Shopify shop domain, app access tokens, session data, and Shopify user details needed to authenticate the embedded app.
- Merchant settings: your active plan, monthly return count, Preview mode setting, and whether you have marked the returns portal as linked from your store.
- Return rules: return windows, selected return reasons, rule names, priorities, and rule settings created by the merchant.
- Preview scan records: scan status, order references, counts, reports, and errors used to show how rules behave before customer requests are opened.
- Return request records: Shopify customer and order references, selected items, return reason, optional customer note, claim status, Shopify return reference, approval or decline timestamps, tracking code, and label status.
- Manual label files: if a merchant uploads a PDF return label, the app stores the file or a private storage reference so the customer can download it from the returns portal.
The customer's email address may be used to verify an order lookup in the returns portal. It is not stored in the return request record.
The app does not collect payment card details.
How the data is used
The app uses this data to:
- authenticate your Shopify session and keep app access scoped to your shop;
- save return rules and portal settings for your shop;
- check order eligibility before a customer submits a return request;
- show customers the return reasons and items your rules allow;
- create return requests in Shopify after a customer submits the portal form;
- show submitted return requests in the merchant claim queue;
- let merchants approve, decline, and upload PDF labels;
- show customers the status of their request and any uploaded label;
- record plan usage and extra approved returns for Shopify Billing;
- troubleshoot failed requests and support questions.
The app does not sell merchant or customer data.
Data sharing
The app shares data with the following parties:
- Shopify: order, customer, return, billing, and fulfillment data is read from or written to Shopify through Shopify's APIs so the app can run inside the merchant's shop.
- Railway: the app database is hosted on Railway, an infrastructure provider.
- Cloudflare R2: when private label storage is enabled, uploaded PDF return labels are stored in Cloudflare R2.
The app does not share return request data with advertising networks or data brokers.
Where data is stored
App settings, return rules, Preview reports, and return request records are stored in the app database. Manual PDF labels are stored in private file storage when configured, with a small local fallback for development and test environments.
Shopify remains the source of truth for orders, customers, and returns created in Shopify.
Retention and deletion
When a merchant uninstalls the app, Jelonyx Returns & Exchanges receives Shopify's uninstall webhook and deletes local sessions, merchant settings, Preview records, return rules, and return request records for that shop.
Returns, fulfillment records, and other records already written to Shopify remain in the merchant's Shopify admin unless the merchant deletes them in Shopify.
If you have a data deletion request, send us a message and we will review it.
Security
Access to merchant app data is limited to the authenticated Shopify shop. Manual label download links use short-lived signed access tokens when served through the app. Logs are configured to avoid storing raw customer payloads, uploaded label contents, and app secrets.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the app changes. The latest version will be published at this URL.
